I'd like to change my username

If you are on the desktop site and would like to change the username associated with your CarGurus account, follow the below steps:

  1. Click on your profile icon
  2. Click Account settings from the dropdown menu
  3. Under Account Settings, locate the Username field and click Edit
    1. (Note: If you created your account by signing in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, you will not see this option. The username cannot be changed as it is linked to one of these three accounts. Unfortunately, a new account will need to be created).
  4. Enter your new username, and click Save

Username Criteria

  • The username must be unique and not already taken by another user
  • The username must only contain numbers and letters

Please note: You will only be able to change your account settings on our desktop site or mobile browser. The CarGurus mobile app currently does not support account changes.
